Climbers will be randomly paired up on the day, taking on 4 freshly set boulder problems. Each climber starts with 10 points on each boulder. If they manage to flash the climb (Complete the climb without falling off), they will be awarded 10 points. Each time a climber comes off the wall a point will be deducted. Each climber will have 4 minutes to climb each boulder problem. If they fail to complete the route in this time they will receive 0 points for that route. The points are added together to create a total for each route for each pair. The max points that a pair can score across all 4 boulder points is 80.
Prizes will be awarded to pairs that finish within the top 3.
Alongside the bouldering there will also be a BeastMaker smallest edge timed hang. The winner will be the person who can hang from the BeastMaker for the longest time.
Each of the climbers who attended The Climbing Shed Boulder Comp 25 paid a £5 entry fee. All of this money has been donated to The Scottish Mountain Rescue to help save lives.
The Scottish Mountain Rescue has 850 volunteers ready to respond in a moment’s notice, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide assistance to people in the outdoors. They give up their time, their beds, abandon their work, and are often called away from their families to assist total strangers.
The 26 Mountain Rescue Teams and their volunteers couldn’t do what they do without support. The teams are all volunteers, but we need funding to support the running of Scottish Mountain Rescue, so that they can help the teams offer the best possible rescue service to all who need them, and provide the teams with their training, insurance and equipment they need.
