Twelve climbers participated in the competition hosted at The Climbing Shed. Entry fees were collected in support of Scottish Mountain Rescue, contributing to a meaningful cause. Climbers were randomly paired and challenged to complete four boulder problems.
To enhance the competition experience, we developed a self-service digital scoring system, enabling participants to easily update their scores and providing real-time leaderboard updates on an external screen. Prizes were awarded to the top three climbers, recognising outstanding performance and celebrating the spirit of the event.
The Climbing Shed began as a small project in 2023, designed to make use of some extra space in the garden. Climbing has become a significant part of my life, helping me to focus and stay present. Since creating this incredible space, it has continued to grow, attracting climbers from all over Scotland who come to set routes and tackle new projects.
We're excited to announce that we'll soon be launching a climbing podcast that celebrates the shared experiences and deep passion that climbing has brought into our lives. This podcast will explore how climbing has helped with anxiety and other mental health challenges, bringing together a courageous community of climbers from around the world, united in one tiny shed.
